HOW TO CONNECT TO BLESSINGS

(Hope this will help someone)

A lot of us pray the God give me money, give me this and that or bless me with so and so prayers. This is quite good ... yeah, nothing wrong with that.
Several years back I read where a man said:

"OPPORTUNITY IS GODS GREATEST GIFT TO MANKIND"

This thought hit me for days... I meditated on it and pondered over it. Then God inspired me with several other thoughts ... saying:

PRAISE LEADS TO VICTORY

In 2 Chronicles 20, we read the inspiring account of how the children of Judah were surrounded and outnumbered by three enemy nations. Then the King of Judah, Jehoshaphat, proclaimed a fast throughout the land, and while they prayed and fasted, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the Levite and he spoke forth the mind of God:

“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)

With those words of prophecy burning in his spirit, King Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and appointed singers unto the Lord, to march ahead of the troops, singing:

“…Praise the Lord; for His mercy endureth for ever” (2 Chronicles 20:21).

As they sang and praised God, the power of God was activated, and their enemies were discomfited! Their praise led them to victory! The fervency and vibrancy of their praise caused the angels of God to go into action and cause pandemonium in the enemy’s camp. The enemy soldiers turned their swords on each other, killing one another. By the time God’s people got to the scene all the enemies were dead! (2 Chronicles 20:22-24)

You discomfit the enemy and activate the power of God when you praise God from your spirit fervently and passionately, irrespective and independent of circumstances! Paul and Silas experienced this when they were imprisoned for doing the Lord’s will. Rather than gripe, complain or despair, they stirred the power of God’s Spirit through praise and were gloriously delivered. (Acts 16:25-26)

Always put this to work in your life; learn to praise God irrespective of the seemingly hopeless situation you may be facing. As you offer words of praise from your spirit and extol His majesty, you’re establishing your victory. So, in spite of that challenge or difficulty, shout His praise; and your victory will be sure.

SERVICE PRECEDES GREATNESS

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will (Acts 13:22).

When God anoints a man, that anointing will only work in its fullness and position that man to fulfil His destiny in God after he has proven himself in service. The anointing doesn’t work just because you want it to work; there’s a time of service; a time when your obedience is tested and proven. If God hasn't proved your obedience, He’ll not command others to obey you. So before He launches you out into greatness; into the destiny of His working for your life, you must first have learnt to serve.

Eternal Life – God’s Gift To Us!

Eternal life is not a promise from God that we look forward to Him fulfilling in our lives when we get to heaven. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11). It’s His gift to us NOW: “…the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23).

Eternal life has been freely given to everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

This is what we celebrate at Christmas time: that God has given to us eternal life, a life greater than sickness, disease, failure and death; a life that makes us superior to satan. That life is what Jesus brought to the world.

When the angels rejoiced and heralded the birth of the saviour, they were celebrating and publicizing the glorious news that humanity can now receive the divine life, and live as champions on earth:
“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:9-11).

Jesus came that we might have life to the full (John 10:10). That’s why He was born. The glorious and victorious life in its fullest is what He brought, and if you believe in Him, that’s what you’ve received into your spirit. This ought to be your joy this season, that having received Christ, you now have eternal life – the miracle life – that cannot be defiled or corrupted by sickness, disease, defeat, death, or the devil.

You may not feel it in your body that you’ve received eternal life, but it’s in your spirit nonetheless. You don’t have to “feel” it in your body first to know that you have eternal life. That’s why the Apostle John, writing to the Church, said:

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13).

Locate Yourself In God’s Purpose

As a child of God, it’s important that you locate yourself in God’s purpose for your life and function in it. Functioning in God’s purpose for you will make your life count both in quality and in the impact you make in the world.

’’And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it’’. (Colossians 4:17).

There’re three basic ways you can find and keep yourself in God’s purpose for you. First is by praying often in the spirit. Praying in the spirit helps to position you in line with God’s thinking and activate your spirit to receive His thoughts. When your spirit is activated, he’s then able to receive God’s signals, counsel and guidance. Then you find that your actions are in sync with God’s purpose and plan for your life.

Something else you have to do to locate yourself and function in God’s purpose is to focus on those things God has called you to do. If you keep your focus and refuse to be distracted, you’ll be walking in God’s purpose from one level of glory to another. Don’t push to the future the things God has asked you to do now; focus on them and do them NOW, for your future begins now! So now is the time to do the things God has asked you to do.

The third thing to do in locating yourself in God’s purpose is to meditate on God’s Word; assimilate His thoughts into your spirit. That way, your spirit will be conditioned to act in line with the will of God. If you do these three things, the necessary result is that the Spirit of God will guide you into the perfect will of God for your life, such that you’ll never have to wonder whether or not you’re doing the right thing; you’ll know.

THINK ABOUT THE HARVEST!

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred (Mark 4:8).

When you give to the Lord, don’t do so with the mentality of lack or loss; don’t get in the flesh by “calculating” what’s left over. For instance, if you had ten thousand dollars, and wanted to give God two thousand dollars, don’t start thinking, “But I’ll only have eight thousand dollars left, which might not be enough for all my other expenses!” That’s not kingdom consciousness! Such mentality could hinder your harvest. You should rather ask yourself, “What’s the promise on these two thousand dollars that I’m about to give?”

You could have a thirty-fold return, a sixty-fold return, or a hundred-fold return! So, what you should be thinking about is the harvest. If you had ten, and gave two to the Lord, thirty-fold of that will be sixty. So, that’s sixty, including the extra eight that you still have with you, making sixty-eight! That should be your mentality. That way, you set into motion the miracle-working power of God for a great harvest. It’s a mentality; train yourself in it; be positive and expectant when you give to the Lord.

Interestingly, the promise of a thirty-fold harvest is the least: there’s the sixty, as well as the hundred-fold harvest; it depends on which one your faith can go for. Imagine if you got the sixty-fold return, the total is one hundred and twenty-eight! What about the hundred-fold return? That’ll be two hundred and eight on the two that you gave, out of ten.

Someone might wonder, “What kind of calculation is that?” It’s Kingdom Mathematics! It’s a mystery to the people of the world, but in the Kingdom, it’s something real and practicable. So, when next you give an offering or a seed to the Lord, do it with Kingdom-consciousness, knowing that you play by a different set of rules. Think about the promise on your giving. Moreover, there’s a lot more than the immediate financial result. There’re other blessings that God causes to take place in your life that are way beyond money.

PRAYER FOR YOU
Dear Father, thank you for showing me how to experience increase on every side. I have mighty harvests of blessings and miracles today. You’ve made all grace available to me, to have all sufficiency in all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

POSITIONED FOR GLORY

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3-4).

God has positioned you for a life of glory, and to live that transcendent glory-life He has called and positioned you for, your outlook on life must be from the perspective of His Word. You must live in the light of His Word and cease to observe situations like an ordinary man.

God has already done all that’s necessary for you to experience His glory here in the earth. But sadly, many Christians still make the mistake of waiting for Him to do something about their situation.

Some even say they’re waiting for Him to take them to the Promised Land – that good and prosperous place, flowing with milk and honey. What such folks haven’t realized is that in the mind of God they’re already in the Promised Land! They got there the moment they were born again. In other words, they are already positioned in the best place they could ever be, having already come on to Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22).

You’ve been positioned for the glory-life, therefore, sickness, poverty, defeat and failure are unnatural to you. Ordinary men may be susceptible to these influences, but you’ve been positioned for victory through the Word of God.

GOD IS NOT MYSTERIOUS

Some people do not understand when we talk of knowing the will of God. They say, “Well, I hope if it is the will of God I will get the job”.

They always think that God’s will is against them. Some people do not like to say what they want to do because they feel God may just not like it. But if you ask them what God likes, they will still be unable to say what it is. They have turned God into a mysterious being.

Someone said, “God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform”. God is not mysterious. To be mysterious means to be a strange “dude” that cannot be understood and that is not what God is. He showed us His will by giving us His word: He’s told us what He did, what He is doing and what He is going to do, so we can understand him. He is neither strange nor mysterious.

Yes, there was a mystery, but Jesus came to solve the mystery.

Colossians 1:22-27
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith ‘grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; Even the MYSTERY which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this MYSTERY among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Paul, speaking by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost said the mystery is one which was hidden in ages past but now has been revealed to His saints, which is, ‘Christ in you, the hope of glory.’ He has now revealed that which was a mystery! And whatever is revealed ceases to be mysterious.

In the Old Testament, God said,
‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts’ (Isaiah 55:8-9).

That was for the Old Testament people, who did not have the eternal life of Almighty God, abiding in their spirits. His ways were high above theirs as the heavens are above the earth, but now that we have become partakers of His divine nature, we have been raised up and made to sit together with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). That is where we live now!

Glory to God!

LIVE A LIFE OF GRACE

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17)

The word receive in the verse above is translated from the Greek word, “lambano,” which means to “take” or “catch” something as yours; to get hold of something; to seize it and make it yours.

Abundance of grace, on the other hand, means overflowing grace; unlimited overflowing grace. This means it’s up to you to take as much grace as you want.

This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he told Timothy “…Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). That means take advantage of the grace. Don’t take a little of it; ‘lambano’ as much as you require.

Receive grace for your reign in life. To reign is to exercise control, influence and authority. It means to rule and be in charge; in essence, live as a king.

This overflowing grace only works for those who receive it. It’s your set time to reign, so, take advantage of the grace of God that has been lavishly poured out upon all men (Titus 2:11); it’s yours for the taking! Hallelujah!

HOW TO TAP INTO YOUR SUPERNATURAL SOURCE

Every creature of God must remain connected to and nourished by its source for it to remain alive and well. In the book of Genesis, God said:

“… Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life” (Genesis 1:20)
He spoke to the water to produce fish and other aquatic creatures. That’s why the fish in the sea have to remain in the water to survive, because that’s their source. If you were to take a fish out of your aquarium and place it on a beautifully ornamented table, it would die, as it’s cut off from its source. In the same way, God said:

“Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so” (Genesis 1:24).

So, all the animals that live on land actually came from the earth and that’s why they must remain on land in order to stay alive. No land animal can successfully live in the water permanently because the land is its source. Man is a spirit and his spirit came from God, even though his physical body came from the ground. Any man who is cut off from God, his source, is actually in death.

That’s why Jesus said that such a one must be born again (John 3:7). If you’re born again, you’re born by the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23), therefore you also must remain connected to your source, which is the Word of God, which itself is God (John 1:1).

Not staying in the Word is to starve your spirit of the material it needs to survive, grow and function normally. Make a quality decision to remain connected to the Word of God, which is the nourishment you need for a healthy, prosperous, successful and victorious life! Read and study it everyday, meditate on it and keep speaking it.

HEAL THE SICK

“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick” (Luke 9:1-2).

God has given us the authority in the Name of Jesus to issue decrees with daring audacity and have them established. That’s why we can speak and act in boldness because of who we are in Christ. For example, when you study the Scriptures, you’d realize that God never asked us to pray to Him to heal the sick; rather, He says we should to heal the sick.

In Matthew 10:8, Luke 9:2, Luke 10:9, Jesus charged the disciples to heal the sick; He didn’t ask them to pray to Him or to the Father to heal the sick. In Mark 16:17-18 He said:

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Jesus made it clear that we have been given the authority in His Name to heal the sick.

Peter, addressing the lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful said, “…Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).

He was conscious of the authority he had and knew that though he couldn't give the man money at that time, he could ‘give’ him healing in the Name of Jesus.

When you pray for the sick, make bold decrees! Command the devils responsible for the sickness to come out and that the sick be healed in the Name of Jesus.

GROW UNTO MATURITY

“And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29).

As one who is born again, you’re Abraham’s seed, and therefore, all of God’s blessings belong to you (Galatians 3:29).

But to effectively appropriate these blessings to your life, your words must align with the Word of God, and the realities of the new creation.

For example, when a Christian says “O Lord, heal me; I just caught the flu and I am so sick”; you can immediately locate him as a babe in the things of the Spirit. The spiritually mature would rather speak the wisdom of God. Rather than talk sickness, he’d speak health and life. He’d say:

“The same Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me therefore I cannot be sick; I’m vitalized by the power of God – spirit, soul and body!”

There’s a clear difference.

The babe in Christ seeks to be healed; but the spiritually mature knows he cannot be sick, because he is the righteousness of God in Christ and therefore speaks accordingly.

James 3:2 AMP says:
“For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.”

Spiritual maturity is measured by your words; therefore, it’s important that you grow in the Word unto maturity, and learn to communicate rightly

YOU CAN’T BE A FOOL FOR FAITH

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:19-20)

Picture Abraham, a ninety nine year old man, with a wife, Sarah, who was past the age of menopause, going about telling everyone in town they’re expecting to have a child. To the spiritually unlearned, they must have appeared silly and senile.

But Abraham disregarded all contrary situations and was strong in faith! He had seen in the spirit the son that was promised, and that picture was more real than his old frail body and that of his wife. He maintained his confession and sure enough, Isaac was born.

This proves you can never be a fool for faith! Whenever you take steps of faith in God and His eternal Word, your actions will certainly pay off. Faith is the title-deed of unseen realities (Hebrews 11:1). It is the proof that what you hoped to have is yours now.

When acting in faith, you no longer try to convince yourself or convince God; rather, you know in your spirit that you have it made–you’ve got what the Word says is yours.

YOUR SET TIME TO DO GREAT THINGS

''And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing' (Genesis 12:2).

From the scripture above, we notice that it was God who spoke to Abraham and said, “I will make you great”; it wasn't Abraham who cried out, “O Lord, make me great!” It was God’s choice to make him great, and from that point on, the man did great things. He defeated five kings and their armies with three hundred servants trained in his house (Genesis 14).
