To Succeed: You Must Seek To Help Others

If you are in a position to contribute to the development of others or help them, to do something they cannot reasonably accomplish on their own, make an effort to assist them.
Anyone desirous of good success in life and business is expected to be involved in the ministry of helps. This involves giving whatever helping hand you can to another person in need. It has nothing to do with your status, how rich or poor you are or your position in the society. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others. A good criterion for measuring success in life is the number of people you have made happy.

The bible says in:
James 2:15-16“If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be ye warned and filled, notwithstanding ye gave them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”
When a person comes to you with a need and you have what it takes to meet that need, the bible says, it is not a time to start praying or prophesying. Don’t send him away empty handed. Give him what is needful to his body. Don’t just pray for a brother that is in need. If you have the solution, give it to him.

THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR HELPERS
The book of Romans 8:19 declares:
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God”
Who are sons of God that the whole world awaits their manifestations?
Jesus took time to describe the characteristics of the sons of God that the world awaits their manifestation in Matthew 25:34-40:
“Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee, or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the king shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”.
The sons of God that the world is awaiting their manifestation are helpers. The reality of today is that the world is in great need of helpers. Everywhere you turn to help is needed. Helpers are solution providers. They might not have all the answers, but they will give you what they have at the moment and point you to where you can get the rest.
The manifestation of the sons of God is not in the performance of miracles alone. It goes beyond casting out devils, or prophesying. In most cases people don’t need manifestation of miracles, they need manifestation of helpers - those that will help them get up and move on in life.
In our ministry, we heal the sick, cast out devils and by God’s anointing; we have been used to wrought great signs and wonders. But it should not end there. We should take steps to be involved in meeting the other social and material needs of people. A man who is hungry wants bread not prophecy. How can a hungry man hear the gospel when he is under the claws of hunger. His mind is clouded with how hungry he is and the worms in his stomach that are busy singing special numbers and different tunes of choruses to him. There is no way the man can attach any importance to your Gospel. At that time, he is hungry, and your gospel will end up becoming “bad news” to him. First of all, give him food to eat and your gospel will turn out to be “good news”.

HELPERS ARE SONS OF CONSOLATION
God has special place for helpers in His in heart and always recognizes them. One such example is Joses, who by the apostles, was surnamed Barnabas.
“And Joses, who by the apostles, was surnamed Barnabas, (which is being interpreted, THE SON OF CONSOLATION), a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
Having land sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles feet” - Acts 4:36-37
For what purpose?
So that “distribution was made unto every man according as he had need” - (Acts 4:35)
Helpers are sons of consolation. They bring consolation to many hearts. God is calling you to join the class of the sons of consolation. Put a smile, today, on someone’s face. Give some hope of a better tomorrow. Show someone you care. Lend a helping hand to someone in need. Visit the widows, orphans, motherless and those in hospitals and in prisons. Give them a gift of love. Your visit, your financial or material gifts should be packaged as a gift of love to them.
Go to the shop and buy some clothes as gift for someone in need around you. Buy shoes for that person who comes to church in torn or worn out slippers. Budget part of your resources to buy food stuffs for some families. Sponsor some people through college. Invest in people. Get involved in the other person’s life. Give freely to the person, not expecting anything in return. Help others anytime you are able to do so. Don’t wait for your government, pastor or leader to ask you to give to the cause of helping the needy, let it be a lifestyle. Regularly sow seeds into the partnership arms of churches, NGO's and organizations that were designed to help the brethren, the widows, the orphans, destitute, those in prison, the sick, the homeless, unemployed, etc. You can even set aside a percentage of your personal income to help people around you. Live a life that is open to helps.
In our journey to success we should try to forget our-self in the service of others. For when we think too much of ourselves and our own interests, we easily become despondent. But when we work for others, our efforts return to bless us.
The Bible says in:
Psalm 41:1-2.“Blessed is he that considereth the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble, the Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth; and thou will not deliver him to the will of his enemies”
The little we have, mixed with faith and willingness to help is our own part as an individual. God’s part is to multiply that little, preserve and bless us. This is one of the key determinants of success. We need God's blessings to succeed and to get it activated in our lives and business we need to help those in need around us. We are expected to use the little we have to help as many people as we can. When we do this as an individual, group or company, helpers, favours and more blessings will be sent to us and we would be empowered to do more for the people in need.

Start with the little you have as a company or individual. Collectively, we would be able to achieve more and manifest ourselves to the world as the true sons of God we are. Never resist any initiative to help someone. Rather, be the first to give..
